Triumph Over Adversity


A mother's journey, fraught with pain,

She faced adversity and loss.

Twin babies, one she'd never gain,

Her heart so heavy with its cost.


She fought through sickness, fought through fear,

Her body weakened by hypotension's hold.

Yet she stood strong, persevered,

For her precious child, so young and bold.


A quadriplegic for 48 days,

She faced her greatest trial yet.

Her love for her child, a burning blaze,

She refused to let it die or fret.


Through two cancers, she did not sway,

Her will to live and love so strong.

And with each step, each day by day,

Her spirit grew and thrived along.


Today, she stands, a proud mommy,

With two daughters by her side.

Her story of triumph over adversity,

A testament to love that cannot hide.


Her journey was not an easy path,

But with love, she overcame it all.

From adversity to triumph, a mother's math,

Her story, a story of hope that will stand tall.

It’s no secret that being a working mother is one of the most challenging jobs in the world. With society’s expectation of women to “have it all,” it can be difficult to find the balance between work and family life. I know this firsthand; as a working mom, I often felt like I was constantly running on empty, trying to do it all.
